First Time Friendships

One of the many hardships of coming to college is making new friends. If you are anything like me, you were probably so used to hanging around the same people every single day throughout, high school. It was way better back in high school, having your own group of friends that knew who you were. But once you hit college, it is time to go and make new friends! Australian author, Patrick Lindsay once said, “Every new friend is a new adventure... the start of more memories.” With that being said, you might be thinking “ Well how am I going to make new friends?” Well it is just your luck! CSU Stanislaus has a various of different clubs and organizations, that you can get involved in. This is one of the best ways of being able to make new friends. By joining clubs that interest you and being able to connect with others. Sure, you might be nervous and afraid to meet others but, you shouldn’t pass up an opportunity to get to know others. I was nervous as well but, I met one of my friends at an event that one of the organizations held and ever since then she has helped me out with so many things regarding school and, is actually helping me open up more by joining different clubs and participating in school events! What I hope you can take from this is, to not be afraid and meet other people because who knows maybe the friendships you make here in college can last much longer than the ones you had back in high school.
